HOLEY MOLEY!!

I seriously do not have any idea how on the earth I'm going to jog an entire 5K. I feel stupid for saying so but I just about died today! I went 2 miles today and jogged a little more than half of it. I'm dying! I will admit though today was the first day since starting this little 5K training that I thought ok this isn't so bad...it's getting easier. I'm suppossed to jog an entire 20 min straight by my third day this week.....aaahhhh!!! I can do it I can do it I can do it!

Kristy and Tracey you seriously amaze me!

MY BROTHER IS COMING...MY BROTHER IS COMING...

...Tonight Dave and Marcianne will be in town and I'm so excited. I haven't seen either of them in 5 years! I just hope that we won't drive them totally insane and that they'll have a nice visit. Quinton is also very excited to get to hang out with Uncle David and Aunt Marcianne. Only 14 or so more hours til I get to see my bud again. We used to hang out all the time so I consider my brother (and all my siblings) one of my greatest friends! Can't wait! Be safe guys, enjoy your flight!

Home and Doing well....

I have to say I was pretty darn shocked that they were ready to turn Zane loose yesterday. They said he had done so well and they didn't think he needed anything I couldn't give him at home. He is doing great but is just a bit sore, with not much a surprise there. I'm kinda bummed because he has to be on oxygen 24/7 for 2 weeks to regulate his lungs and make sure he doesn't go into pulmonary hypertension. BUT that means we have to pack his oxygen with us around when my brother is here next week and we have family photos (but we are going to cheat a little for that one!)

Again I have to say we are so grateful for all the love and support we have in amazing family and friends. Thanks for helping me out with Quinton during this time. Thank you for Priesthood blessings and many many prayers in his behalf. I have to also say we had some awesome nursing staff up at Primary's. They were fantastic and you can tell they really love their job, we thank them all too.

Yesterday was the big heart day

We finally got Zane all set with his heart surgery. He had a VSD which is the most common heart defect in children and is a hole in the heart. He hadn't been gaining weight and was considered "failure to thrive" so they did surgery so that he will be able to exert more energy and grow stronger. The surgery took about 3 hours and he did very well. He's in the ICU for the next couple of days and then will be transferred to a regular room. It's hard as a mother but I also know it is for the best and considering what else we've seen up there we consider ourselves very lucky. Thanks to all your love and prayers.

5K Training Week 3

OK so I think I shall die today! I really just cannot imagine that I will ever get up to running 3.5 or more miles per day. It was very hard today! This week was to do an alternate of 90 sec walk, 90 sec jog then 3 minutes walk and 3 min jog and do it twice! Wow. On the second 3 minute run segment I just about died. I made it but it wasn't fun. I know it's all about little build up. 6 weeks to go maybe I'll just make it yet.

Another Size bites the dust.....

and boy I couldn't be happier. I've been working out, trying to eat better and NOT GIVING UP! Well these dumb shorts I bought at Wal-Mart not even a month ago are falling off! I went to DI tonight cuz darn it I'm not paying even Wal-Mart prices anymore for pants that I'm hoping won't fit in another month! I was quite pleased that yes another size down for me. Of course I have that long road ahead but I'm feeling better, sexier and I think my hubby likes it!

WOW! I did it!

Ok so again I know that many of you that read my blog and have been running or are in good shape think oh please you're such a wimp! But I'm proud to say I went out for my second week of my little 5K training and I did it. It was a ton easier than I was expecting especially after a holiday weekend of packing away food like nobody's busisness! I put on my distance meter expecting that I probably went about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile at best...well turns out I went 1.5 miles. I didn't jog the whole thing cuz that's not the program but I did my alternating intervals and they really are getting easier! I don't think I'm going to ever run a marathon or even a half one cuz truley jogging is no my favorite exercise but I'm pretty happy about these little successes.

11 years and we're still HOT!!!

Ok well maybe not me but the rest of my good high school buds are pretty darn hot still. The other night we went to Jaime's for a BBQ and a little "re-union" with some of my best buds from high school. We had a great time talking about high school, friends, weird people, where we have run into people etc etc. It's funny how some friends you fall out of touch with but then when you get back together it's like not a day has passed, except we all have kids at about 10 lbs or more than we did in high school! I sure hope that I can keep in touch with these awesome gals as time goes on. Love you girls!

I suddenly like the 'Sound of Music'

I've never been a big fan of the musical Sound of Music. Last night we went and saw it in live production at the Murray City Ampitheatre and it was darn good! My adorable sister-in-law Beck got the lead as Maria and she has been a wreck for weeks over this! Why?! She did amazing! In fact there was the opening scene with the nuns singing and then she came down out of the "mountain" from behind and as soon as I heard the first note she started singing I started crying (yes I am a bawl baby!) I just thought wow, that's my Beck! I was so proud of her and all the hard work and dedication she has given the last several weeks to do this. It was FANTASTIC!!!! The play runs tonight and tomorrow so if you need something fun to do with your summer evening go see it!

You amaze me so much Beck, I love you!
